Too busy to devote an entire week to kayak touring in Europe? Or do you simply crave a long weekend getaway filled with sunshine, outdoor activities, and great food? Take a Short Break! Like our Island Hopping Tour, AKT's Short Break Tour offers the beauty of the Elafiti Archipelago region, geared for travelers who are on a tighter timeline.

Upon arrival in Dubrovnik, you'll take a brief ferry ride to your guesthouse on either Šipan or Lopud Island. Šipan, the largest and wildest of the three inhabited Elafiti islands, was summer home to many noble Dubrovnik families in the 15th and 16th centuries. Lopud, the liveliest and most developed of the islands, is an island without cars or roads and features one of the best beaches in the Dubrovnik region.

The Short Break itinerary varies according to your base island: Lopud or Šipan. Days 2 and 3 are full sea kayaking days. Day 4 is your choice: another full day of kayaking, a kayaking & cycling day, or a sightseeing excursion to Dubrovnik. Day 5 you're back on a plane, homeward bound.

Short Itinerary (5 days/4nights)

Day 1:

  • Arrival in Dubrovnik & afternoon ferry to Lopud or Šipan
  • check into guesthouse, explore town, orientation dinner

 

Day 2: Lopud base Itinerary

  • Kayak issue, basic skills and rescue class in bay
  • morning paddle to Šunj, afternoon paddle to Kolocep
  • Ferry back to Lopud, dinner at Lili's

 

Day 3:

  • Ferry to kayaks on Kolocep
  • Circumnavigate Kolocep, explore caves, cliff jump
  • PM beach time on Sunj, paddle back to Lopud town

 

Day 4: your choice

  • Option 1: full day paddle-mainland coast, Ruda & Šipan
  • Option 2: 1/2 day kayaking and 1/2 day biking on Šipan Island
  • Option 3: sight seeing in Dubrovnik

Day 5:

  • Ferry to Dubrovnik
  • Airport transfers for departure flights
